There is a festive mood all around. Everywhere you go, there would be little symbols to show that a holiday was coming such as after my aerobics, I heard people wishing each other, “auguri”.

In supermarkets there will be huge crates of really big chocolate eggs and chocolate bunnies and there were throngs of people rushing to buy chocolate eggs.
Cart and I got the chocolate eggs that our niece and nephew wanted as well as cute little chocolate bunnies for ourselves.
I didnt have the heart to eat these cute bunnies.
The next morning, we got ready to go to Cart’s sister’s house. I passed my chocolate bunnies to the kids and was pleasantly surprised to get a chocolate egg of my own!
I dont have the heart to eat this one either
I was a little amused to see the kids smashing the chocolate eggs excitedly to find the ‘sorpresa’ inside. One of them was this superman toy (with an impaired hearing bunny)
We were joined with Cart’s parents for an easter morning meal together.
And we had a relaxing day, watching the kid’s antics, chatting with each other. I felt very comfortable that I was getting better at speaking Italian. Its not perfect, but its a starting step.
Just change ‘Auguri’ to ‘Selamat Hari Raya’ and the chocolate eggs to ketupat and of course with the family meal together, it feels somewhat like Hari Raya.
Now I’m totally excited to make a hari raya celebrations and invite my in-laws in September. And totally wear a baju kurong even if Cart refuses to wear it ๐
Sidenote : Razor burn = pain
lol, the racks for the bunnies are green!
Do spread our festive over there too!

I’m not sure how much they can take spicy (Cart says that Italians can take hot food well) but lets see what happens … hehehehehehe!

Oh, I took a picture of the fried egg ice cream, the yolk is made from peach half and the rest is cream and vanilla ice cream. I put some chocolate sauce to make it like soya sauce ๐
this is totally random but i’m loving the caricature of you n cart. so cute.
Hi Rinaz,
I did wonder if the residents in The Vatican did party all nite ? Just kidding. On the 8 o’รงlock news here, the roman catholics would hold their breaths until the Pope blessed them in dutch n to thank NL for the tulips (30,000 euro gift every easter). It’s the same every year n still it’s a magical moment to hear him speak dutch – haha.
Chocolate eggs, rabbits n roosters r sold here for the occasion. My in-laws r free thinkers, so I hv not experience the intensity of celebrating the day. Your SIL sure was serving up a yummy dish from the pix u post here !
The pictures that you have put up are really smashing. Singaporeans in general are creative. What does auguri signify?
Aeqmal
Ahem … thank you ๐

Cart was telling me that the pope washes people feet and that its such a big deal that its broadcasted on tv. (I didnt watched it … hehehehe)
For me personally I dont celebrate Easter, but it was really nice to get together with them and just enjoy each other’s company ๐

I guess it means best wishes ๐
