I dont like many high impact exercises. They are quite challening. I’m losing my joy in running. Doing aerobics with my mum (!) leaves me embarassingly half dead.
But I like yoga.
I like the fact that I am able to bend and reach and twist about. It makes me feel good. Yoga is about reaching out the best that you can but you never overexert yourself.
There’s something about yoga is sensual to me. Many of the poses and asanas are so sexy. This is one of them :
The above is called the pigeon pose. It looks challenging when I first saw it, but surprisingly, I was able to do it on the first try. I’m amazed that I’m actually more flexible than I thought I was!
I guess I’m naturally inclined to yoga. When I was a kid, we’d challenge each other to see who can bend their fingers the most. I realise then that I was able to bend it quite far.

He seems horrifed to see that, but it really doesnt hurt for me.
Its the second lesson for me at the Jurong East Sports stadium and Juli and I are really enjoying our workout so far. According to the weighing machine, I havent lost any weight, but I do feel healthier and stronger than before.

Goodness you’re adorable in the pigeon pose! I’m not a high impact exercise person either, and just like you, once I started yoga, I realized I’m actually quite flexible. I can’t do that with my finger though 😉
Anyway, I agree with you on something else–yoga makes me feel sexy too 🙂

i tried doing yoga but gave up. my body’s just not flexible enough! and once, when we were doing this pose where we just lie down to do breathing exercises, I FELL ASLEEP. HAHAHHAHA!
I don’t even dare think about yoga. You wouldn’t too if you heve never pass your sit & reach tests ever.
But I agree, it does look sensuous bo doubt. A bit painful-looking too. 🙂

Huh? Scared? Why? Yoga is about doing the best that you can do. If you cant do a pose, dont force yourself 🙂
There are some poses during the workout that I couldnt do myself. And there are some poses that I can do. Its all within the person’s abilities 🙂

I think during deep relaxation, its good to fall asleep. Alot of us did fall asleep during the last asanas. Hehehe. And the nice thing is, many times after yoga when we reach back home, our body feels so restful that we go into a deep uninterrupted sleep.
I like that because I tend to wake up in the middle of the night and dont feel rested the next day. So its nice 🙂

But yoga doesnt only focus on flexiblity. Its to do the best that a person can do without forcing themselves. You’ll discover that you’re strong in some parts of your bodies and maybe not so in other parts.
And there should be no pain. If there is pain that means that there is something wrong with what you’re doing and you should stop immediately.

kamasuAHEM! different poses.Rinaz, actually I started yoga in college (9 years ago! Gah!)–a few friends and I took a class because it was a half credit toward graduation and figured it might be fun. I didn’t realize just how much I would enjoy the way my body felt whenever I did it.
Of course then I stopped doing it for many years because I just fell out the routine; I’ve started up again recently doing about a half hour on my balcony every morning…don’t know how I got along without it!

Like you, I didnt realise how much I would enjoy it too. I’ve heard stories of how Yoga is dangerous, of how difficult it is. But I think that its all up to the person’s mindset of how much they want to go. At the same time not to force themselves.
Wow, half an hour on the balcony! I dont remember most of the asanas! I hope to try the sun salute in time 🙂

In America we call what you do with your finger ‘double-jointed’ but I doubt that is an accurate description of what it is. It does mean there is something different about your joints than most 🙂
Yoga does help release body chemicals that will make you feel sexy. I know that after a good session of yoga I feel much better.
i am currently enrolled in a Yoga class. the health benefits of Yoga on myself is great. I am more relaxed and i can sleep well at night.
