Would you eyebrow thread?

eyebrow threadingLadies! (And adventurous men)

If you are game enough for something new, give eyebrow threading a try. Whenever you are in the vicinity of Little India, stop by in any of the many indian beauticians along the way.

I’ve always wanted to do eyebrow threading for the longest time, but it seems that there isnt many offered in the vicinity that I live. I think eyebrow threading is better because its much faster than tweezing thus, making the pain treshold lower.

I sat down and let the beautician do her magic.

She rolls the cotton string in her fingers and in seconds, the eyebrow is shaped.

And the best thing is, its only for 5 dollars! Tweezing done in salons costs ten to fifteen dollars. I think thats a good deal for something which achives the same thing.

And what to do with the money saved?

Eat yummyriffic indian food of course!

  1. Komalas or komala villas? In either way, both are good πŸ™‚ I’ve always wondered how they get the air inside the bhattura – its so facinatingly balloony big …

I dont know the name of the place where I did the threading, but it was nearby Ananda Bhavan. Just go up the stairs πŸ™‚

  2. When I lived even remotely close to a salon that offered the service, I loved threading. much faster than plucking and much neater results than waxing. Nothing makes you looked more polished than a nicely arched eyebrow.

  3. i used to do a lot of threading too… eyebrows, face, the whole works (except i haven’t tried armpit hair threading, ewww), and yeah, it’s very cheap in lil india! i used to walk ard with a splotchy red face in lil india all the time, haha. πŸ˜›

then i stopped cos i didnt fancy the idea of getting break-outs after threading, especially when i do the whole face. my skin is getting too sensitive, sigh…

Thanks for dropping by my blog! Threading is much faster isnt it? Plus it takes off the hair from the roots and supposedly in the long run, lesser hair will grow and lesser threading is needed.

I do think that nice eyebrows makes a person look really groomed – but eh, who am I to say, I’m the type of person whom cant be bothered to put on makeup to work πŸ˜›

I’d like to try the whole face too! I tried doing the upperlip at the same time, had a mini stinging session, but at the end of it, I’ve never had such a smooth upper lip. It was really cool. (Can we really have armpit hair threading? I never heard of anyone offering it before)

    I thought threading prevents breakouts?

  5. yeah it’s supposed to, cos u’re removing hairs which would otherwise trap grime and dirt in which the bacteria wld thrive in. but somehow, my skin becomes sensitized after the whole threading session (you should really see how red my face is heh), and it becomes more prone to pimples. =_=

but yeah, the whole face looked very baby smooth after threading. before all the spots come out that is, hehe. but u shld give it a try, face looks very clear and fairer after. πŸ™‚

armpit threading – i’ve seen it on the list of services of various shops, but i’ve never actually seen it being done before, hahaha.

  6. When I did the threading for the upperlip, it stung and hurt a little. Its been 3days now and I dont see any zits forming there (I hope it keeps that way though) I think I’d like to try doing a whole face in the future. That certainly sounds really cool πŸ™‚

SOrry for you that your face turned red though. Didnt the beautician put on some calming lotion afterwards? Hazeline snow at least.

Uh … armpit threading? I think thats too adventurous even for me. (But maybe I could try, on a dare πŸ˜› )
