Thanks for the Video Review. I have used Windows Movie Maker for a while but do not like that it only has very basic functions. My new camera records in MOV format which Windows Movie Maker does not support which is my excuse to now switch software...so I have been thinking about switching to Adobe. One question though...Do you know if it supports editing video in 16x9 ratio or HD videos?

Daphne

Me? Kiut? Erm ... hehehe

Startup was a good 2 minutes. After that, it was relatively okay and not too sluggish. Why not try anyway and see if you like it :)

What I like about the software is that when you export the video, the size is much smaller compared to movie maker, which is usually at least 50 megs.

Brian

Thanks! To be honest, I've never tried iMovie before. Have seen youtube several demos of iMovie in action and that really attracted me a lot :)

I also heard that iMovie 8 has lesser functions than its predecessors. If it were true, its very strange.

Musxart

Hehehe :)

Too simple? How so? Do you mean you wanted more effects?

And yes, I bought my copy after downloading and using the trial ... didnt quite like the watermark stuck when using the trial so I got a copy :)

Daniel

Oh, I've never delved into Final Cut Express before. Interesting observation about Movie maker and iMovie being free :)

Thanks for the information. I've been scouring around for simple and yet impressive video editing softwares, I'll be having loads of fun with this one :)

Actually, Adobe Premiere Elements, i feel, is an answer to Apple's Final Cut Express rather than iMovie. iMovie and Windows Movie Maker is free (unless you count the iMovie upgrades with iLife), while Final Cut Express and Premiere Elements cost some money. iMovie and Windows Movie Maker was designed for an average Joe who wants to make home movies rather than productions like yourself.

Premiere Elements is definitely worth the money for doing semi-pro stuff like you do, great buy!
