Recently, Fauziah, our Italian Language teacher taught us the recipe on how to make tiramisu. But all of us were not prepared for last night when Ching Guan actually brought a dish of tiramisu from ‘Fabbrica’ . It was such a hit with everyone!

Too bad Rafi, Dana, Sandy and Felice couldnt make it to class last night. More for us! π
Oooooo Tiramisu!! I love it!
Your video brings back a lot of memories of when I 1st tried Tiramisu.. Haha.. We had so much fun!
NTT
When did you first try tiramisu NTT? Many of the places here that sell tiramisu are not geniuine and catered more to local tastes. Actually I think this is my first time eating tiramisu … Before I learnt Italian, I thought tiramisu is a japanese food π Hehehehe
“I thought tiramisu is a japanese food :P”
Hahahah.. me too!
I tried it first when I was on exchange, in Denmark. My Italian house-mate made for us. It was very nice.
Yup. I tried the one that was rated “The Best Tiramisu in Singapore” by Straits Times (somewhere near Novena), it was crap. So where do you get authentic stuff in Singapore?
NTT
Woah … how nice of your Italian housemate :] Anyhow making tiramisu isnt difficult, its just getting the right ingredients that can be of a problem here π
Where to get authentic stuff in Singapore? Erm … that kind of question needs to be directed to a native … π
Ingredients? I get them easily.
Mainly the Mascarpone (can get at Carrefour Cold Storage or The Marketplace) and Saviordi (Can get at Carrefour or Cold Storage). What else?
Though I dunno if the quality is good? Probably not i guess..
NTT
I guess you need to fly directly to Europe for the best quality ones? Hehehe … well we have to make do with 2nd best I guess π
Hrm … According to Fauziah, this is the recipe that her Italian teacher gave her while she was studying in Italy:
The recipe is in Italian though, need time to translate .. ROFL!
For 6 people –
4 eggs
4 spoons sugar
200g Mascarpone
2 packets of savoiardi biscuits
espresso for 6 people
Cocoa powder
E buon appetito!
Ok, the most I can make out is that you mix the egg yolk with sugar. Then you add the mascarpone to the sugar.
Soak the savoiradi to the espresso and then layer the mixture (?). Top it off with the cocoa powder and cool it in the fridge for 3 hours.
My Italian language is still horrible lah.
Oohh I gotta try out this recipe :p
Arzhou
Try! Try! Then let me have a taste of it … For quality control, of course π
Hahaha.. Ok I know this is a real shameless plug to my blog.
But here is a post I did about Tiramisu loooong ago.. :p
Check to see correct or not??

Thanks for the recipe! Shall keep it for future “argh im so bored lets do something” moments π
NTT
According to Cartcart, it looks about right Γ’β¬Β¦ except for the typo, savoiardi, not saviordi .. hehehe π
Faddy
My question is, where to get the ingredients for people in the west side lah. Or should we travel all the way to the central area just for the sake of Tiramisu?
But if you make it, I want to taste it … just like for Arzhou, its for quality control π
hahaha i guess travel lah. i doubt ntuc or liberty stocks those stuff you mentioned. heck, i dont even know what some of the ingredients are! hahhaha. mesti tanya my mother or some orang kedai.
As for making it, not the near future lah rinaz. hukhukhuk. my baking skills has ALOT to improve π
Thanks for the recipe! Looks so delicious! Time to put my baking skills into practice and add another delicacy to mybaking list, besides chocolate brownies! =)
Faddy
There’s nothing to be baked for Tiramisu π But do let me know when you’ve made it! I want to try!
Vania
Tiramisu doesnt even need to be baked in the oven. No cooking needed, just mix the ingredients π But like Faddy, I want to try it when you made it!!!
Sure, I’d love to have you try it, but when? We haven’t met up before. =p
Mascarpone is a key ingredient. yours look yummy!
